Dickey gets Vulture recognition

Dale Dickey, Bearden High and UT grad, has been recognized by a magazine called Vulture as one of the best character actors in America. She received an honorary master’s degree in fine arts from the University of Tennessee in 2015, saying she’s found her niche in playing downtrodden, other-side-of-the-law types, including the homeless, addicts and prisoners. Anthony Holowka, a third-year veterinary medicine student at Lincoln Memorial University, is one of 10 students from across the nation chosen for the Merck Animal Health Veterinary Student Scholarship for $5,000. The scholarship was awarded March 1 at the 52nd annual American Association of Swine Veterinarians (AASV) meeting.

Gov. Bill Lee announced that all Tennessee adults will be eligible for Covid-19 vaccination effective April 5. Tennesseans aged 55 and older and those in Phase 2 of the state’s Covid-19 Vaccination Plan were eligible for vaccinations beginning March 22.
