  • Bistro at the Bijou: live jazz 7-9 p.m. and a wide variety of cocktail choices. Bistro at the Bijou: Live Jazz
  • Hear a Songwriter Night: Join every Wednesday at 7 p.m. for an acoustic-based Singer-Songwriter Open Mic. Sign-up begins at 6 pm, and there is room for 20 performers per night. Boyd’s Jig & Reel: Hear Here Songwriter Night.
  • Market Square Farmers Market – 10 a.m.–1 p.m. in Market Square. Shop fresh produce, flowers, baked goods, local foods, and handcrafted items from East Tennessee vendors
  • Preschool Storytime — 11-11:30 a.m., North Knoxville Branch Library, 2901 Ocoee Trail. For babies, toddlers and preschoolers.
  • Marble Springs State Historic Site on Friday, August 21, at 6:30 p.m. for the first lecture in the Historic House Museums of Knoxville’s America 250 lecture Series. This free public program commemorates the 250th anniversary of the founding of the United States by exploring the people and events that shaped our nation’s early history.
