Cumberland House Knoxville plans a party

Remember the Four Points by Sheraton hotel? The dusty yellow building sat at 1109 White Avenue on the edge of the UT campus and within walking distance of downtown. The seven-story, 130-room hotel has been reborn (after a $14 million renovation) as Cumberland House Knoxville, Tapestry Collection by Hilton.

And today (11/16) at 4 p.m. it will be officially reopened.

Actually, the Cumberland House opened in November 2020, but the pandemic prevented an official grand opening celebration. Since the hotel is branded as a nod to Knoxville textile roots, the party was set for National Button Day.

The evening will showcase a special “Makers Market” featuring a variety of local makers with products for guests to shop – including dogs onsite from Young-Williams animal center. This complimentary celebration will provide guests with a champagne toast, hors d’oeuvres, signature cocktails, beer tastings, prizes and more.
