Welcome to the first edition of our newest weekend feature! We hope you’ll make it part of your weekend reading.

One of the best things about East Tennessee is that we all see it a little differently. For one person, it’s a sunrise over the Smokies. For another, it’s a favorite fishing spot, a blooming garden, a county fair or a quiet evening on the front porch.

Those moments are part of what makes this place home, and they’re worth sharing.

That’s the idea behind Community Snapshot, a new Saturday feature that invites our readers to help tell the story of East Tennessee through photographs.

You don’t need professional equipment or years of experience. Some of the most memorable pictures are the ones taken on an ordinary day when something catches your eye and reminds you why you love living here.

If you’ve captured a scenic view, local wildlife, a community event, your favorite downtown, a family adventure or another slice of everyday life in East Tennessee, we’d love to see it.

Email your photo to news@knoxtntoday.com.

Include your name, hometown, where the photo was taken, and a sentence or two about why it’s meaningful to you.

Throughout the year, we’ll feature reader photos on KnoxTNToday because this publication has always been about more than the news. It’s about celebrating the people, places and moments that connect our community.

We’re looking forward to seeing East Tennessee through your lens.
