Some of the best East Tennessee views are the ones we almost miss.
We’re usually on our way somewhere – driving home, running an errand or thinking about the next thing on the list – when a familiar scene suddenly looks different. Maybe the light is just right, the mountains are especially clear or an ordinary stretch of road reminds us how fortunate we are to live here.
That’s what Community Snapshot is about: noticing those moments.
This week’s photograph is one of them. It isn’t necessarily a destination or a place anyone would find on a travel itinerary. It’s simply an East Tennessee scene worth slowing down long enough to enjoy.

For the past few weeks, we’ve offered specific photo challenges. This week, we’re opening it up.
Have an East Tennessee moment worth sharing?
Send us any photo that made you stop, smile or take a second look. It might be a sunrise, an old barn, wildlife in the backyard, a neighborhood landmark, a country road or something completely unexpected.
Email your photo to news@knoxtntoday.com by Thursday at noon. Include your name, hometown, where the photo was taken and a sentence or two about the moment.
If reader photos arrive, we’ll be glad to share some of them here. If not, we’ll keep looking for the everyday scenes that remind us there’s always something worth noticing close to home.
Sometimes all it takes is remembering to look.
