One of the things I enjoy most about East Tennessee is that you never have to travel far to find something worth remembering. Beauty isn’t limited to the Smokies or well-known landmarks. Sometimes it’s a quiet country road, a misty sunrise, a family farm or a favorite fishing spot that becomes part of your own story.

This week’s Community Snapshot features a favorite East Tennessee photograph from one of our readers. Whether it’s a mountain overlook, a peaceful creek, a historic downtown or a hidden corner of your community, every photograph captures a moment that reminds us why we’re proud to call this region home.

Our choice photo for this week was sent by Kat Ogrod, who lives in South Knoxville, (locals call SoKno) and is an agent for Wallace Real Estate. Kat chose the Great Smoky Mountains for her favorite place. She says, “Even as a kid the sight of these mountains filled me with wonder. There is always a hint of magic around every corner. That essence of magic and wonder has never aged and continues to ignite my imagination.”
