‘Church ladies’ float the Beaver

Women from Beaver Ridge United Methodist Church got in a practice round, kayaking on Beaver Creek in advance of the Saturday, May 20, Flotilla presented by FirstBank.

“These ladies had a blast on their float,” posted Charlie Austin, president of the Beaver Creek Kayak Club. “Special shout-out to member Mark Graham for organizing this adventure and guiding them along the journey. Many of them will return for Flotilla!”

Mark Graham posted: “Thank you Charlie Austin, Josh Goldman and Bob Fox for coming and helping everyone in and out of the creek. I couldn’t be prouder to be a part of such a great group of people.”

Church pastor Teresa Atkins McClure chimed in: “Thank you for being with us, to help us. It was a fantastic day to float!!!”

Erica Joyce Zuckerman said the float was fun and “the creek is beautiful. So much to see while floating.”

Deborah Land Rice added: “This morning was absolutely glorious. Beaver Creek is so beautiful thanks to the hard work of so many people and the generosity of Knox County Parks and Recreation. So thankful to live in this beautiful community.”
