Christman promotes Marty Gibbs

The Christman Company has promoted Marty Gibbs to senior vice president and general manager of the construction management and real estate development firm’s regional office in Knoxville, Tennessee.

Gibbs, who has served in construction management in Knoxville since 1998, started with Rentenbach Constructors Inc., and provided leadership in 2013 when the company merged with Christman. He served as vice president and general manager for the Knoxville operations before his recent promotion.

Gibbs also serves on the Board of Education in Union County.

Steve Roznowski, Christman president and CEO, said Gibbs’ ability to “lead among leaders makes him an asset to any collaboration.”

During Gibbs’ tenure, Christman has been recognized by the Knoxville Chamber with a Pinnacle Business Award for its impact on regional economic prosperity. Projects underway in the region include the renovation of the University of Tennessee’s Neyland Stadium and renovation of the TVA East Tower for use by UT and Knox County Schools.

Gibbs is a licensed professional engineer. He earned a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from UT in 1998 and an Executive MBA in strategic leadership in 2021 from the university’s Haslam College of Business.
