Cattywampus Puppet Council is set to host a unique Fall Ball on Saturday, October 21, 2023, 7-10 p.m. at The Old City Performing Arts Center on 111 State Street. This festive evening, complete with music, dancing, refreshments, a silent auction and signature giant puppets, aims to raise $35,000 to support the nonprofit’s 2024 initiatives, highlighting the magic of community-driven art and puppetry.
Cattywampus Puppet Council is a community-based arts nonprofit in Knoxville, Tennessee. Over the past eight years, the council has been bringing interactive parades, theater, play and giant puppets to communities across East Tennessee and the South, utilizing the arts as a vehicle for helping communities tell their stories, build relationships with one another and cultivate power, joy, creativity and justice together.

Whether through the vibrant community brass band, the Knox Honkers & Bangers, or free after-school art programs, Cattywampus continues to evolve and seeks ongoing community support for future endeavors.
Rachel Milford, executive director of Cattywampus Puppet Council, said, “The Fall Ball is not only a fundraiser but also a celebration of eight years of enriching Knoxville through people-powered art.”
Guests are invited to be imaginative as they wish with their Ball attire, from duct tape tuxedos to butterfly wings, or simply come as you are.
Entertainment will be provided by Knox Honkers & Bangers, a vintage vinyl Halloween DJ set from Xerox the Kidd, and maybe even a pop-up parade, so you won’t want to miss it.
Funds raised during the Fall Ball will benefit 2024 programming to include: the 7th annual Parade & Street Party, Parade Youth Art Residencies, Youth Intern Squad and Knox Honkers & Bangers.
