The Hand UP for Women “Hand UP for Change” online auction will begin on Friday, November 1, 2024, shortly after midnight and run through Sunday, November 10, 2024.
Hand UP for Women staff, mentors, volunteers, participants and graduates are excited for the community to participate in this annual event.
This year the online auction features gift cards and experiences ranging from a day at Neyland Stadium with exclusive access to areas ahead of the University of Texas-El Paso game, to admission to Anakeesta, a trip to Zoo Knoxville, to a night at the movies and additional options. Plus, there’s oodles of food options such as a Crumbl cookie gift card, a Connors Steak and Seafood gift card, a Water into Wine gift card, Litton’s Market and restaurant gift card and more.
Hand UP for Women is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit serving resilient women in Knox and surrounding counties. The organization is dedicated to expanding its ability to uplift and support even more women in need.
More than 100 women have graduated from Hand UP for Women since 2003. These women have broken intergenerational poverty, achieved and maintained sobriety, reunified their families, become financially self-sufficient and replaced dead-end jobs with education and careers, left abusive relationships and learned to build their lives on a foundation of faith in God.
About Hand UP for Women
Executive Director Eva Pierce said, “Our philosophy is simple: the best way to grow is with ‘new playmates and a new playground.’ The funds raised from this auction will empower us to enrich and expand that playground, providing more resources and hope for women on their journey to a better life.”
It’s easy to create an account and start bidding online. The goal is to raise $15,000. Last year the auction raised more than $17,000. For those who do not wish to participate but feel compelled to give, those donors can directly donate here.
