Gwen Brown and the staff and volunteers at Sacred Ground Hospice House are planning a November basket auction fundraiser. Keep an eye on Sacred Ground’s Facebook page for opportunities to donate or volunteer. Read our earlier story here.

The giant mum held by Brown was donated as a preview of the nonprofit’s upcoming basket auction. After vigorous one-day bidding, the mum was purchased by S.D. Cantey.

Sterchi Hills Neighborhood is sponsoring a Spooktacular Pumpkin Contest, hosted by the Evans family at 6742 Timber Run Lane. It’s Sunday, Oct. 30, at 2 p.m. and everyone is invited. Here’s the link to participate. And it might be fun just to drive by to see all of the pumpkins in the Evans’ yard.

Callie Worthington Dawson, owner of Roots Salon and Boutique, posted a call for local pet vendors. She also is looking for pet groomers and pet-lover employees for Roots Paws Pet Boutique, opening Nov. 1 in Powell. Info: here.
