Banjo Bird

After posting several landscape images I’ve recently been drawn (pun intended) to figures and gestures. One sunny day I caught this bird chirping his heart out for a few dollars on the sidewalk of downtown Knoxville’s Phoenix Building. I don’t remember what he was singing but the look on his face sticks with me. This was a fun painting done in a loose style. The face may not be recognizable; the gesture is clear.

Photographer Chris and painter Robin Rohwer each week strive to share a painting or photograph that captured their interest in hopes that it will also capture yours. They have a small studio and gallery in the Emporium Center in downtown Knoxville where you can stop and see their work.
