Banjo Bird

Christopher RobinOur Town Arts

After posting several landscape images I’ve recently been drawn (pun intended) to figures and gestures. One sunny day I caught this bird chirping his heart out for a few dollars on the sidewalk of downtown Knoxville’s Phoenix Building. I don’t remember what he was singing but the look on his face sticks with me. This was a fun painting done in a loose style. The face may not be recognizable; the gesture is clear.

Photographer Chris and painter Robin Rohwer each week strive to share a painting or photograph that captured their interest in hopes that it will also capture yours. They have a small studio and gallery in the Emporium Center in downtown Knoxville where you can stop and see their work. Check ahead to see when they will be there, as they may be off looking for more inspiration. Their website is www.ChristopherRobinArts.com. Email them at ChristopherRobinArts@gmail.com.
