Ava Ottinger awarded P.E.O. Scholarship

The Philanthropic Education Organization Chapter R awarded Ava Ottinger. 2023 Farragut High School graduate, the Philanthropic Education Organization Women Advancing Women Scholarship in May.

The $1500 scholarship is awarded to an outstanding female high school senior based on academics, community service, leadership, and financial need after candidates complete an application which include references, and transcripts. Candidates also participate in interviews as part of the scholarship selection process.

Ava Ottinger, an exceptional student, marched with the band throughout high school, volunteered at Young Williams Animal Shelter, the Knoxville Humane Society, Boo at the Zoo, and Knoxville Area Rescue Ministries (KARM).

Ava will be attending the University of Tennessee in Knoxville this fall where she is admitted into the College of Nursing. She wants to work in a neonatal intensive care unit to provide care to medically fragile newborns.

P.E.O. Chapter R is dedicated to helping women advance in their educational goals. P.E.O. has helped more than 113,000 women pursue educational goals by providing over $366 million in grants, scholarships, awards, and loans.
