November at Pellissippi State Community College brings a bevy of art exhibits, concerts and lectures through The Arts at Pellissippi State – an annual arts series for the community.

Most events are free to attend, and all are at the college’s Hardin Valley Campus, 10915 Hardin Valley Road. Parking is free and plentiful.

Paper Trail Vol. 4: Peruse art, photographs and journals by students and faculty during their study abroad adventures throughout 2017. Exhibit times: 10 a.m.-6:30 p.m., Monday-Friday, through Nov. 17.

Fall Choral Concert: Pellissippi State’s Variations Ensemble will perform at 7 p.m., Tuesday, Nov. 7, in the Clayton Performing Arts Center.

Jazz and Bluegrass Concert: Bask in the talents of Pellissippi State’s jazz ensemble and bluegrass ensemble, Hardin Valley Thunder. Performance begins at 7 p.m., Tuesday, Nov. 14, in the Clayton Performing Arts Center.

American Badass Vol. 2: Lecture by Jennifer Brickey, associate professor. How does one destroy a myth? Jackson Pollock was a legend who shattered previous assumptions about painting. Brickey shows how a new cool-school of female post-modern painters is competing with abstract expressionism in a way that is full of controversy, vulgarity and, of course, renegade attitude. Lecture is 12:30-1:30 p.m., Tuesday, Nov. 7, in the Goins Building Auditorium.
