Area deaths include McDougle, Trimble and Guinn

Services are scheduled today (1/26) in Brentwood for Edwin A. McDougle Jr., an engineer who worked on major projects at the University of Tennessee including Neyland Stadium, Haslam Business Center, Min Kao Engineering Building, and John D. Tickle Engineering Building.

A Knoxville native, Mr. McDougle earned both bachelor’s and master’s degrees in structural engineering from UT. He served his country as a pilot in the USAF and Tennessee Air National Guard. The family moved to Nashville in 1972 and Brentwood in 1977. He provided leadership at Ross Bryan Associates Inc. for some 35 years, mentoring young engineers.

Rosemary M. Trimble passed away in her home on Jan. 22 at the age of 86. She was preceded in death by her husband, H. Blair Trimble Jr. Both were active community volunteers and were married for 55 years.

Mrs. Trimble grew up in St. Johns, Newfoundland, and was educated in Montreal. Services are set for Jan. 28 and burial on Jan. 29 at Highland Memorial Cemetery.

Charles Wayne Guinn Sr., 81, a former mayor of New Market, has died. He retired most recently from the Jefferson County School System with 25 years of service. Prior to that, he worked at Magnavox for 42 years. He was a New Market alderman from 1983-91 and then served as mayor from 1991-2017.

Services will be Monday, Jan. 28, at New Market Presbyterian Church.
