BarberMcMurray Architects received a citation award from the American Institute of Architects East Tennessee Chapter for its design of an expansion and renovation of the laboratory and workspace at Analysis and Measurement Services Corporation, 9119 Cross Park Drive in West Knoxville.
Dr. Hash Hashemian, president and CEO of AMS Corporation, called it “a tremendous honor” to have worked with BarberMcMurray. In a press statement, Hashemian said AMS added 15,000 square feet of lab testing space as well as a two-story electromagnetic compatibility chamber. “BMA took advantage of the interior elements, converting the space into a collaborative, functional and beautiful environment. Rather than hiding the massive EMC chamber, BMA made it a centrally prominent design feature.”
The AMS brand is prominently displayed as well with an embedded AMS logo in the poured terrazzo floor and the company’s distinctive orange on accent walls and structural beams.
Established in 1977 and based in Knoxville, AMS employs nearly 100 people working here and in Austria, South Korea, Spain, Switzerland and the United Kingdom.
