A vision of sunnier days

A stop for pizza in Roan Mountain led to a quick photo of this friendly place and then to this 24×30 painting. The last blooms of summer sunflowers, the sun bouncing off the roof and a cool blue mountain in the background sang a sweet song to me.

But no pizza. This obscure pizza place, so popular that the delay for us was excessive, reportedly has a pie worth the wait. The obscurity of this location was punctuated by my surprise when several visitors to our studio recognized it!

I’ve still haven’t sampled the pizza, but it’s definitely on the menu.

Don’t forgot, it’s time for the First Friday Art Walk downtown. Most studios and galleries will be open Feb. 4 from 5-9 p.m.

Photographer Chris and painter Robin Rohwer each week share a painting or photograph that captured their interest in hopes that it will also capture yours. They have a small studio and gallery in the Phoenix Building at 418 South Gay Street where you can stop and see their work. Their website is www.ChristopherRobinArts.com. All works are copyright protected.
