The month of February seemed to go by in the blink of an eye! The last week of the month ended with 1,636 new documents added to Knox County’s land records. Trust deeds recording loans accounted for 353 of the total recordings valued at $147.79 million. The largest loan of the week, $24.77 million, was funded by TGC RE Agent, LLC. The 15 others over $1 million are outlined below:

On the sales side of real estate 238 warranty deeds were recorded, valued at $86.99 million. Among these, seven properties were priced over $1 million, including two commercial properties.
One of the transfers was 21 lots in a growing neighborhood in the Hardin Valley community. SH Couch Mill, LLC, sold the lots in phase two of the Haven at Hardin Valley neighborhood to developer Turner Homes, Inc., for $1.96 million.
The other commercial sale made the local headlines last week. Papermill Place Partners sold the well-known and perpetually busy McKay’s Bookstore property and parking lot. Papermill Place, LLC completed the transaction at $4.25 million.

To recap February’s business, 5,822 total documents were recorded. Loans made up 1,300 of those new instruments worth $600 million. The largest loan of the month was $7 million, funded by Pinnacle Bank. Property sales accounted for 826 of the documents and had a combined value of $327.12 million. The most expensive transfer of the month was the Broadway Shopping Center, which sold for $ 11.35 million.
