Randy and Jenny Boyd just bought one of the most expensive horses at the Fasig-Tipton Saratoga yearling sale in New York. Beth Kinnane, who keeps up with such things, forwarded the information from X (formerly Twitter).
“We know nothing about horses, but we’re excited,” Jenny Boyd told an interviewer. She said their interest in horses came because “it’s something new we could do at our age.”
Her husband was more diplomatic. “Jenny knows about playing the fiddle. She owns a Scottish pub. And I’m president of the University of Tennessee, so I know about higher education and business. … We trust our partners (trainer Billy Love and agent Brittany Linton).”

Although high on the sales list, this horse was not the top seller. The sales topper sold for 4.1 million. Attached is the full list of results from that sale.
The article states “one of” the most expensive horses in the sale, which she was. The sale topper was an absolute knockout, though. Incredible colt.

To the Boyds, Let me be a part of being ,taking care and grooming and feeding and picking the jockeys for the mounts at every track it races at. But bring it to California and i will make your horse the next winner of the first Saturday in May. Or lets claim other horses at pennies on the dollar and make mucha mula as well. Im an expert at picking horses that produce, no duds.

Wow how fabulous! 2.5 million on a horse that has never even raced, very fortunate to have such money to play with… I hope and pray that that beautiful young filly makes it across the finish line every time with no broken limbs.
