- Pellissippi State Foundation has received $15,000 from the Regions Foundation to use in support of science and math education at Pellissippi State Community College. The college is making plans to expand its facilities and offerings in these disciplines.
- Solid Waste facility closed today: Due to a fire that occurred Thursday evening, the city’s Solid Waste Management Facility, 1033 Elm St., will be closed Friday, March 16. The closure will remain in effect until city workers are able to assess and properly clear any damages that occurred inside the transfer station. The facility accepts trash that is not permitted in daily garbage collections: tires, building materials, etc.
