Bobbie Dean Yates Congleton passed away peacefully Aug. 19, 2021, at 91 years of age.
Mrs. Congleton and her husband, the late Lee Congleton, were well-known leaders in Knoxville, engines making various philanthropies and nonprofits run. The couple were married for 58 years before his death in 2009.
Organizations that benefited from Bobbie Congleton’s involvement included Akima Club, West Hills Garden Lovers, Leadership Knoxville, Dogwood Arts, the Knoxville Symphony, the Knoxville Opera, Zoo Knoxville, Knoxville Museum of Art, the East Tennessee Historical Society and the East Tennessee Foundation.
