Broncos, Mavericks, Mustangs: Watch them ponies run

Ray Varner Ford in Clinton will be bringing in new Ford vehicles as they roll off the line. The dealership has installed a charger for electric vehicles and has added two portable chargers.

“The new, all-electric 2022 F-150 Lightning is coming this summer and fall,” Ray Varner said and the sales crew is ready. The Lightning expands your definition of what a truck can be, according to the Ford Motor Co. “It’s the first ever F-Series that’s gas-free and offers an array of connected, intelligent features with over-the-air software upgrades to ensure that your truck can get even better over time.”

This is the truck of the future. You plug it in at your house at night and it powers up. If your electricity goes out, the truck can provide backup power to your house if you’ve got it set up in advance. And, you can monitor your truck’s status from just about anywhere with your phone.

The 2021 Ford Bronco (pictured here) is an SUV with attitude. It comes in seven models including one limited-edition model that’s already sold out – nationally.

Ray Varner also likes the 2022 Maverick and Maverick Lariat, smaller and less expensive than the F-Series. The Lariat comes in 10 colors – the usual whites and grays – plus three optional choices that sparkle: cyber orange, alto blue and hot pepper red. A version comes with four doors and seating for five. Mavericks have a standard hybrid engine and an optional flex bed.

Finally, there’s the 2021 Mustang Mach-E with expected delivery in early fall. The all-electric cars have a 230-mile range with a standard battery charge. Prices start at $43,000 but can drop as low as $35,300 with a federal tax credit.

Varner put 1,000 miles on one recently and said it exceeded his expectations. He’s got a friend in Halls (age 87 no less) who has pre-ordered one, and Ray expects the new Mustang to be a big seller. The future is bright for Ray Varner Ford and its customers. Just drop by, see what’s coming and get your name on the list.

Those 50 Broncos won’t last long.
