  • Weekend college: Whether it’s Ukrainian egg dyeing, handgun safety or flying drones, Pellissippi State Community College has free lifelong-learning classes for you. Classes meet on Saturdays with new ones set for Jan. 27 to April 7. Info: www.pstcc.edu/bcs or 865-539-7167.
  • Rebranding: World’s Fair Exhibition Hall is the new name chosen for the city of Knoxville-owned venue formerly known as the Knoxville Convention and Exhibition Center. It is managed by SMG Knoxville. This year’s city budget includes $2.1 million for updates including HVAC, roof and bathrooms.
  • Brent Waugh is the new CEO of Big Brothers Big Sisters of East Tennessee, replacing Doug Kose who announced his departure in November. Waugh was events and media relations manager for BBBS from 2008-10. He returned in 2017 as development director.
  • Halls High Alumni Association is soliciting applications for the Alumni Hall of Fame. The deadline for submitting applications is March 31.
