- Rebranding: World’s Fair Exhibition Hall is the new name chosen for the city of Knoxville-owned venue formerly known as the Knoxville Convention and Exhibition Center. It is managed by SMG Knoxville. This year’s city budget includes $2.1 million for updates including HVAC, roof and bathrooms.
- Brent Waugh is the new CEO of Big Brothers Big Sisters of East Tennessee, replacing Doug Kose who announced his departure in November. Waugh was events and media relations manager for BBBS from 2008-10. He returned in 2017 as development director.
