In an announcement to the congregation, Hancock said January 28, 2024, will be his last Sunday at Macedonia. “Jim Dougherty will be preaching on February 4. Then, beginning on Feb 11, the Rev. James Robert “Jim” Bailes will serve as interim until June 30.” He wrote. “I have spoken with Jim, and he is ecstatic about spending this time with you. He also has a lot of great ideas to get the church moving forward. I love each of you and pray for the future of the church.”

Hancock said his time at Macedonia has been a blessing in every way and he looks forward to hearing about the church’s growth in the future.

Jim Bailes is a retired Methodist minister who has served at various area churches including Church Street UMC and Emerald Avenue UMC.  He’s got 1.7 K friends on Facebook.
