Great Lobelia: ‘Absolutely beautiful’

Wildflower Report – Trillium Gap Trail (B to Trillium Gap) – 18 September 2023

  • Black Cohosh – Many – Past peak bloom however still many with beautiful blooms.
  • Daisy Fleabane – (1) – One plant with blooms (at peak bloom).
  • Doll Eyes – Some – Berries (blooms in the spring).
  • Golden Rod – Many – Mostly erect Golden Rod – Mostly at peak bloom.
  • Great Lobelia – (2) – At peak blooms – Absolutely beautiful.
  • Hearts-a-busting – (4) – At peak bloom (hard to see below the trail – partially hidden).
  • Pale Jewelweed – Many ++ – At peak bloom – very colorful.
  • Pink Turtlehead – Few – Past peak (Sorry, insects have been eating the leaves – see photo).
  • White Snakeroot – Many + – At peak boom (some past peak & some budded).
  • White Top Aster – Many – Mostly at peak bloom.
