  • Knox County school board on Wednesday delayed a vote on the budget until April 30 on a motion by Terry Hill. She is researching state funding and asked for additional time. After an almost eight-hour workshop on Monday, everybody seemed relieved. The Great Schools Partnership and Project GRAD released a joint statement thanking the board for the delay and urging full support for Project GRAD funding.
  • Magnet schools will be showcased today (4/12) from 5:30-7 p.m. at the Career Magnet Academy, on the campus of Pellissippi State Community College at the Strawberry Plains exit of Interstate 40. Everyone is invited.
  • Kiwanis Club of Northside Knoxville will host pancake day from 7:30 a.m. until noon Saturday, April 14, at Saint John’s Lutheran Church, 544 N. Broadway. Info: Bill Larson, 693-8845, or Tom Mattingly, 414-6218.
