  • Karns: Harrell Road Park and Beaver Creek water trail will be dedicated at 10 a.m. Friday, May 26, 7221 Harrell Road. The park is the county’s first stormwater demonstration park. It contains two wetland ponds, native vegetation, a walking trail and a kayak/canoe launch.
  • South Knox: Commissioner Carson Dailey and school board member Amber Rountree will meet with residents 5-7 p.m. Tuesday, May 30, at Gap Creek Market, 2138 Kimberlin Heights Road. Everyone is invited.
  • Fountain City Day in the Park is 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday, May 29, at Fountain City Park. Come for vendors, music, awards.
  • City offices and recreation centers will be closed Monday, May 29, for the Memorial Day holiday, but Waste Connections’ pickup of garbage and recyclables will continue as regularly scheduled. The city’s Solid Waste Management Facility, 1033 Elm St., will be closed Saturday through Monday.
