Meet Joey Chestnut, Champion Competitive Eater, on Friday, May 8th at 3 pm at our Lenoir City Food City location, 300 Market Drive, Lenoir City, TN 37771.

Joey Chestnut is the most dominant figure in competitive eating, turning an unusual sport into a national spectacle. Born in Vallejo and a graduate of San Jose State University, he discovered his talent in college and quickly rose to the top.

He’s best known for winning the Nathan’s Hot Dog Eating Contest at Coney Island where he ended the dominance of Takeru Kobayashi and began his own reign on each Fourth of July.

Nicknamed “Jaws,” Chestnut holds numerous world records, including eating more than 70 hot dogs in 10 minutes. His success comes not just from appetite, but from discipline, training, and strategy.

Betsi James is the special events manager for the Food City Knoxville division.
