The fall leaf season is upon us. Colors working the way down from the higher elevations will soon fill the lower valleys. East Tennessee’s surge of color also brings a surge of visitors including numerous photographers.

These images were taken on the eastern section of the Foothills Parkway (currently closed due to the flood) between Gatlinburg and I-40. This beautiful section of the parkway is frequently overlooked by park visitors but worth the trip. Throw in a stop at one of several local orchards in the area to grab a bag of apples and you have the formula for a great fall excursion.

Photographer Chris and painter Robin Rohwer each week share a painting or photograph that captured their interest in hopes that it will also capture yours. They have a small studio and gallery in the Phoenix Building at 418 South Gay Street where you can stop and see their work. Their website is www.ChristopherRobinArts.com. All works are copyright protected.
