Knoxville City Council will meet at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 20, in the main assembly room of the City County Building, 400 Main St., to interview applicants and select a council member to fill the unexpired term of Stephanie Welch, who resigned to take a position with Mayor Indya Kincannon.
“Hurt, Help and Hope: A Community Conversation About Suicide,” a free program open to the public, will be at 4 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 23, at Middlebrook Pike United Methodist Church, 7234 Middlebrook Pike. The program will begin with speakers and a question-answer session in the sanctuary and end with refreshments in the fellowship hall, where there will be printed materials and an opportunity to talk with the speakers one-on-one.
