Series continues Saturday at Clayton Park and The Cove

The Second Saturday Concert Series continues this Saturday, July 9, with Leftfoot Dave and the Magic Hats playing at The Cove at Concord Park and Jay Dee taking the stage at Clayton Park.

The free concerts are held from 6-8 p.m. June through August on the second Saturday of each month. Attendees are encouraged to bring their own blankets, lawn chairs and food. However, no alcohol is allowed.

Leftfoot Dave and the Magic Hats bills themselves as “French horn infused good news blues” from “Chicago through the Ole Miss Delta to Texas with a little Cajun spice thrown it.” You can find more about the band here.

Jay Dee, a country music singer-songwriter based out of Knoxville, performs contemporary country, classic and Southern rock covers across the Southeast. More information about Jay Dee can be found here.

The Cove, located at 11808 S. Northshore Drive, is the county’s most visited park. It features several summertime amenities, including a beach, playground, sand volleyball court, walking trail and fishing areas. River Sports also rents canoes and kayaks. Clayton Park, located at 7347 Norris Freeway, includes a pavilion, grills, walking trail and playground.

The final date series is August 13, with Rockinfellerz at The Cove and Crawdaddy Jones at Clayton Park.

If any concert must be canceled because of the weather, the county will post a notification to the Parks and Recreation Facebook page and the park’s Twitter page.
