Are you an existing writer, want-to-be writer or just want to learn some writing skills? Marilyn Mascaro will conduct a writing workshop on Thursday, May 23, 2024, 6-8 p.m. at the Historic Ramsey House, 2614 Thorngrove Pike, Knoxville.

Marilyn Mascaro is an educator, traveler, Knoxville native and a graduate of the University of Tennessee. She says she is enamored with the written word. She has published poetry, narrative non-fiction and written her first novel, When the Rivers Flowed, set in her hometown Knoxville.

This workshop will focus on writing characters and settings, as well as techniques for getting started.

Participants will be given writing prompts and may share their responses if they wish. The class is open to all, no matter the amount of writing experience, and will benefit fiction and nonfiction writers.

The fee is $25 for members, $30 for nonmembers and participants should bring writing materials.
