TWRA spring turkey hunts

The Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency will hold Spring Turkey Quota Hunts on the Oak Ridge Wildlife Management Area in April, in cooperation with the Department of Energy, the city of Oak Ridge, TVA and the University of Tennessee. In addition to the appropriate TWRA hunt license, hunters are required to possess a valid quota hunt permit issued by TWRA.

Designated hunting areas are closed to the public during scouting and hunting periods. City-managed recreation areas impacted by the hunts include the North Boundary Greenway trails, Gallaher Bend Greenway and Wheat Greenway. Haw Ridge Park is not included in the Spring Turkey Hunt.

Hunters will have access to the wildlife management area during these times:

Scout Date – April 6, 2024, from 7 a.m. to noon (permit holders and approved youths only)

Hunt Dates – April 13 & 14 and April 20 & 21. Hunter access is allowed from one hour before sunrise to 1 p.m. on hunt days.
