Paul Beasley takes the stage Saturday at Clayton Park

The Second Saturday Concert Series kicks off this Saturday (06/11) with Paul Beasley taking the stage at Clayton Park. Mayor Glenn Jacobs also is expected to visit a few hours before the show begins to hand out cupcakes in celebration of the county’s 230th birthday. The mayor will arrive around 4:45 p.m. to greet folks at Clayton Park.

Paul Beasley is a long-time local musician and veteran of the Moonshine Cherrys, an original rock band. He’s also played in a number of cover bands. You can find more about him here.

The free concerts are held from 6-8 p.m. June through August on the second Saturday of each month. Attendees are encouraged to bring their own blankets, lawn chairs, and food. However, no alcohol is allowed.

The dates and bands for summer 2022 at Clayton Park are:

  • July 9: Jay Dee
  • August 13: Crawdaddy Jones

Clayton Park, located at 7347 Norris Freeway, includes a pavilion, grills, walking trail and playground.

If any concert must be canceled because of the weather, the county will post a notification to the Parks and Recreation Facebook page and Twitter page.
