Moon beam

Christopher RobinOur Town Arts

The sun has received constant coverage with the recent solar eclipse “burned” into our minds with tens of thousands traveling cross country to see its minutes of glory. Don’t forget, however, the sun was not the only actor in our planetary stage play. The moon is a much friendlier subject and more forgiving of having a camera pointed in its direction.

I photographed this silver sliver of the moon with my longest lens in the early morning sky before it faded away with increasing sunlight. Be sure to appreciate (zoom in for detail) our nearest planetary neighbor. Yes, I know it is technically not a planet, but it sounded cool.

Photographer Chris and painter Robin Rohwer each week share a painting or photograph that captured their interest in hopes that it will also capture yours. They have a small studio and gallery in the Phoenix Building at 418 South Gay Street where you can stop and see their work. Their website is www.ChristopherRobinArts.com. All works are copyright protected.
