Knoxville go bragh! Get’yer green on

Jay FitzDowntown, Our Town Outdoors

Head Downtown Saturday, March 12, for the return of Knoxville’s St. Patrick’s Day Parade after a two-year hiatus. Don’t let the snow scare you. Participants will line up on Howard Baker Jr. Blvd. and step off at 12:45 p.m., heading up Church Street for the official parade start time of 1 p.m. The parade route turns right on Gay Street, heading north before turning right on Jackson Avenue, where the parade ends past Central Street.

Knoxville native Chris Blue is the Grand Marshal of the 2022 parade. Blue is the 2017 Season 12 winner of The Voice. He began singing in church at age 3. Chris won the Voice-Off Knoxville competition in 2015, then toured locally as well as in England, The Bahamas, Jamaica and the Virgin Islands. He attended Tennessee Temple University in Chattanooga, and was actively involved in the campus worship ministry as well as the campus gospel choir.
