Holleroo, a free street festival highlighting the eclectic Happy Holler neighborhood, will take place on Saturday, April 13, 2024. The family-friendly event features live music, local artisans, food vendors and a soapbox derby race down North Central Street.

“We wanted to create an event that brings the community together to celebrate everything that makes Happy Holler special,” said Rusty Odom, publisher of Blank Newspaper and co-organizer of Holleroo. “From the historic homes to the local businesses, this neighborhood oozes heart and soul. Holleroo is all about showcasing that.”

The festival will run from 10 a.m.-11 p.m. on North Central Street between Scott and Baxter avenues. A soapbox derby viewing area will be located in The Brookside parking lot. After the derby, this area will transform into the music venue where Sarrenna, Dos Fuegos and Dishwater Blonde will perform.

Look for vendors selling handcrafted goods, art, clothing and more; a variety of food options and alcoholic beverages for those 21 and older throughout the day.

“Happy Holler Events is proud to sponsor Holleroo and support community-building initiatives that celebrate the neighborhood’s cultural heritage,” says Felicia Qualls, manager of Relix and The Brookside. “Events like this help bring commerce and visibility to historic neighborhoods like Happy Holler,” adds Seth Barber of Central Street’s Pirate Tavern.

Admission to Holleroo is free and open to the public. North Central Street will be closed to vehicular traffic during the event. For more details and the music lineup, visit https://holleroo.co
