The Zoo Knoxville silvered leaf langur troop welcomed a new bright orange baby on June 26. The male was able to explore the outdoor habitat at Langur Landing with all members of the troop, now totaling 8, for the first time on Tuesday.

Just hanging out with Mom

The silvered leaf langur is also known as the silvery lutung, silvery langur and the silvered leaf monkey. This old-world monkey is a native to Borneo, Sumatra, the Malay peninsula and the Natuna and other nearby islands. With a conservation status of “near threatened,” these langurs are part of Zoo Knoxville’s participation in the Species Survival Plan.
