Help InterFaith Health; buy a pie

InterFaith Health Clinic is planning its second annual Thanksgiving Pie Drop fundraising event Nov. 1-18.

Celebrating its 30th anniversary, InterFaith Health Clinic provides medical, dental and mental health care to working and uninsured residents of East Tennessee. The staff of 24 is supplemented by volunteer doctors and others.

The Pie Drop works like this: Home Federal Bank is the presenter and pies come from Buttermilk Sky Pie Shop, with locations in Bearden and Turkey Creek. Each gourmet nine-inch pie purchased for $100 underwrites the cost of two patient visits for uninsured workers. Order a pie to eat or send one to a friend.

Ordering ends on Thursday, November 18, and pies will be delivered on Monday, November 22, just in time for Thanksgiving. The choices are pecan pie or 1-40 pie, a pecan-based pie with chocolate chips and coconut flakes.

InterFaith is also offering the opportunity to send a four-inch mini-pie to a senior citizen at a local assisted living facility for just $25. Pies can be purchased online here or call 865-243-3018.
