Fast-casual restaurant concept Freddy’s Frozen Custard & Steakburgers has awarded Name, Image and Likeness (NIL) deals to four collegiate athletes from the Tennessee Volunteers. Freddy’s will partner with basketball players Zakai Zeigler, Dalton Knecht and Tess Darby and baseball player Cannon Peebles to share their menu favorites on social media channels and the brand’s website.

Tess Darby, a native Tennessean, is a Lady Vols senior who already has earned a degree in finance.

“Freddy’s is one of the best post-game meals, so it was an easy choice for me to work with them this season,” said Zakai Zeigler, basketball point guard.

Cannon Peebles, sophomore catcher who transferred to UT from NC State, selects a very tall burger.

Freddy’s is showcasing male and female collegiate athletes excelling in basketball and baseball. While some of the athletes are new to the growing brand, others frequented the restaurant after practices and games.

“I’m proud to be working with a restaurant like Freddy’s this season. Their steakburgers and custard are next level, so it’s the perfect partnership for me,” said Dalton Knecht, basketball guard.
