Wandering in the wilds of East Tennessee, one can meet all kinds of lovers. Some special couples stand out, though.
My goal this winter morning just after sunrise in -22 F. temps was not necessarily to capture an idyllic image that would later be used on a Valentine’s Day card.
Lo and behold, though, Taylor Jae and her fiancé Montgomery made the perfect frosty couple. As students at East Tennessee State University, both have excelled in their disciplines and have graduated with honors. For several chilly moments on this day, they represented the unmitigated joy of facing an otherworldly weather wonder.
In a song, Janis sings to remind us of our youth and Valentine’s Days past:
“Bobby shared the secrets of my soul
Through all kinds of weather, through everything we done
Yeah, Bobby baby kept me from the cold …”
It’s not a traditional Valentine’s Day photo, but we can show how to keep each other from the cold, hand in hand, and Forever Young!
