The Lawson Family Foundation, a private foundation dedicated to promoting justice and opportunity, is pleased to announce the appointment of David Arning as president.
“David brings a wealth of experience and passion to the role, and we are confident his leadership will be instrumental in expanding the foundation’s impact,” said Phil Lawson, philanthropist and founder of the Lawson Family Foundation.
Driven by the belief that every life has equal value, the Lawson Family Foundation exists to support efforts that promote justice and opportunity in all aspects of society, primarily in Knoxville, Tennessee. The Foundation focuses support on organizations involved in the areas of education, economic development, criminal justice reform and anti-human trafficking. It has awarded more than $2.2 million in grants since its founding in 2021.
Arning comes to the position with more than 20 years’ experience in real estate, community development and nonprofit work. He is active in the Knoxville community and sits on the board of directors of the Bijou Theatre and Volunteer Ministry Center.
