Zoo Knoxville entertains with Budgies and Tortoises

Many people enjoy visiting zoos as they get to see and learn about various animals up close. Knoxville Zoo asks if we might be “Looking for a fun and truly unique experience this summer?” If we are, they suggest getting up close with an Aldabra giant tortoise or hanging out with some birds. I found some visitors who really had a lot of fun at the Tortoise Trail and Budgie Feeding encounters at Zoo Knoxville.

Visitors can get Budgie seed sticks from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. for $2 and the Tortoise Trail is $5 from 10 a.m.- 3 p.m. Visitor Tammy Barry said, “I honestly think budgies are my son’s favorite thing to do at the zoo.” Kristen MacIntosh responded, “My daughter loved the Tortoise Trail this year. She could’ve spent all day there.”

So, instead of the tortoise and the hare, it’s the tortoise and the budgie at Zoo Knoxville! Now, that sounds like fun for all.
