It’s a “fur piece” from Knoxville to Reelfoot Lake State Park (380 miles via I-40 West), but it’s a trip worth making. At least once.

Each winter, hundreds of bald eagles visit Reelfoot Lake to explore the flooded cypress forest and hunt for fish. This January and February, you have the opportunity to experience this exciting event in person.

Book a cabin or campsite. Reelfoot Lake offers premium cabins that are spacious, comfortable and perfect for families. They offer lofted ceilings, full kitchens, WiFi and prime access to the beauty of Reelfoot Lake.

The park also offers lakefront RV and tent campsites.

Every Saturday and Sunday during January and February, the park offers bald eagle and waterfowl bus tours. Led by experienced park naturalists, these two-hour tours allow you to observe the eagles by telescope and learn about the natural and cultural history of the area. Info on reservations.
