Travel memories

Christopher RobinOur Town Arts

Through our travels the world becomes smaller, and we meet many wonderful people. When tragedy hits faraway lands, having visited there makes those events much more real. The fire in Notre Dame, political unrest in a third world country or natural disasters become more personal.

Robin and I previously traveled through some of the area hit hardest by this week’s Moroccan earthquakes. Thousands of people died, many more were injured, and ancient cities and villages were reduced to rubble.

Here are a few images of people photographed on our trip through the Atlas Mountains, the Sahara Desert and the beautiful city of Marrakesh. Though we may not have spoken, they live in my camera, so I consider them friends. Let’s hope these foreign friends and their families are safe.

See more of our Morrocco trip and people on our website under “Travel and Trips.”

Photographer Chris and painter Robin Rohwer each week share a painting or photograph that captured their interest in hopes that it will also capture yours. They have a small studio and gallery in the Phoenix Building at 418 South Gay Street where you can stop and see their work. Their website is www.ChristopherRobinArts.com. All works are copyright protected.
