Suffering for art in the heat wave

Christopher RobinAnderson, Our Town Arts

It was a stifling hot day when I traveled to Erin’s Meadow Herb Garden near Oak Ridge to paint en plein air.

Of course, there was plenty to paint in the shade, but the scarlet bee balm, so well posed in front of the red barn, with rosemary and lavender alongside, sealed the deal. It almost sealed my fate due to the heat. Besides being a wonderful place to paint, there is lots to learn about essential oils, cooking and medicinal herbs. Tell them this painter sent you.

Photographer Chris and painter Robin Rohwer each week share a painting or photograph that captured their interest in hopes that it will also capture yours. They have a small studio and gallery in the Phoenix Building at 418 South Gay Street where you can stop and see their work. Their website is www.ChristopherRobinArts.com. All works are copyright protected.
