Alex Stokes will deliver drinks along with comedy as the guest bartender at Scruffy City Hall, 32 Market Square, Knoxville, on Thursday, Feb. 16, from 5-8 p.m. at a Pint Night raising funds for scholarships for journalism students in all news media.

Stokes, a stand-up comedian and author, will help the non-profit Front Page Foundation. He is donating his bartending services and Scruffy City Hall will donate a portion of drink proceeds to the foundation.

For the past six years, Stokes has taught the only stand-up comedy class of its kind in the country at the University of Tennessee.

Also an author, he has published six books, his most popular series titled “Messing with Tourists,” focused on conversations he had with Gatlinburg tourists. He started and led Gatlinburg Comedy Tours, a walking comedy pub crawl in the tourist destination. Among podcasts he hosts is “Waking Up in a Brewery.”

Proceeds from Pint Night will help fund annual scholarships for journalism and electronic communications students at the University of Tennessee and Pellissippi State Community College, according to Don Lindsey, president of the foundation.
