The Home Builders Association of Greater Knoxville annual Parade of Homes – co-sponsored by ORNL Federal Credit Union and Tindell’s – begins today (10/4) and continues every Friday, Saturday and Sunday through Oct. 20. This year’s Parade of Homes features more than 40 new homes from the area’s best, most trusted builders across eight East Tennessee counties.

The new homes built for the 2019 Parade have added nearly $21 million to the local economy this year.

The event features homes ranging from $198,000 to over $1 million. While viewed as a showcase of what is possible in a modern home, the Parade is the region’s premier showcase of homes, said Byron Wood, president of the Home Builders Association of Greater Knoxville and co-chair of this year’s event.

“We literally have something for everyone. There are starter homes, mid-range homes, retirement homes and multi-million-dollar dream homes … and everything in between. Even if you aren’t in the market for a new home, we spotlight all the latest offerings in kitchens, bathrooms, home entertainment and living spaces at the Parade of Homes. It is an event for everyone,” he said.

Last year’s HBAGK Parade of Homes saw record-breaking attendance and this year’s free show is expected to draw even bigger crowds.

“The Parade of Homes is the only place you can go and walk through one new home after another – as many times as you want – and meet directly with builders at each home in a single afternoon,” said Dan Mitchell, 2019 Parade of Homes co-chair. “These are the best, most innovative builders and vendors in the industry, and because they’re all Home Builders Association members, people know they are professional, experienced and trustworthy.”

This year’s show includes 42 distinct homes in Knox, Anderson, Blount, Loudon, Monroe, Roane, Sevier and Union counties. A complete listing of homes is available in the guidebook and on the free Parade Craze app for iPhone and Android phones. The Parade Craze app includes GPS directions to each property. Parade Craze delivers a streamlined experience and allows you to sort the showcase homes by price range, location or the features you are interested in. Once you identify the homes and builders you want to visit, the app will even map out the easiest route for you to get from location to location, said Wood.
