Moving to Dutch Valley

Sandra ClarkLet's Talk

A few weeks back, Tom King wrote an emergency responder profile on KPD Patrol Officer Jasmine Reed of Dutch Valley.

Dutch Valley?

The only one I knew is at the edge of Sharps Ridge, paralleling I-640. Googling ensued.

I discovered the real Dutch Valley community of Anderson County and its Facebook page Dutch Valley, TN. For some reason, an admin let me join. I love this page and community – so much so that I want to move there.

Here’s a one-week sampling of recent posts:

Could you do a two-layer carrot cake?

Response: $20. Pick up Oliver Springs or can deliver. All baked goods from scratch.

Does anyone know who owns the open field across from Hoskins Lane on Sulphur Springs?

Response: ♦♦♦♦♦ ♦♦♦♦. He will not sale.

I’m not interested in purchasing. I wanted permission to take pictures of my baby next to a hay bale. Didn’t want to go on his land without permission.

Response: He wouldn’t care.

Owner: No problem.

A ton of neighbors responded including:

Take care and listen to the doctors. Prayers

What a neat place where folks seem to know their neighbors. OK, so I may not move there, but I can at least drive through this weekend and maybe grab lunch at Fox’s Diner.
