June 21 is not just the first day of summer (though that’s what we think about). It is also the day that the U.S. Constitution became the official framework of the government. New Hampshire was the ninth of the 13 states to ratify the Constitution, on June 21, 1788, officially ending government under the Articles of Confederation.

Just a little reminder of the history of our great nation!

Now on to the property transfer information recorded in our office last week. We had an unusual week in that the total dollar amounts of property transfers were more than the total of the loan activity. This is usually the other way around.

Some 282 property transfers totaled $87.3 million. The largest was a $6.9 million car wash transfer between Millertown Car Wash LLC and Realty Income Properties 26 LLC; the property is off Millertown Pike near Knoxville Center in northeast Knoxville.

The next largest property transfer was a $6.575 million transfer between Powell Place Center LLC and Powell Place Main Street LLC & Powell Place Newnan LLC for a 60/40 interest in the shopping center on West Emory Road.

Loan activity totaled $78.4 million. Powell Place Main Street LLC and Powell Place Newnan LLC took out the largest loan of the week, $4 million.
